Two Recommended Software Packages*

If you are looking for an easy web site builder, I have two solutions that I highly recommend. I have used both of these site builders personally and recommend each of them without hesitation.

Site Build It* - Highly recommended for beginners.

If you are completely new to building websites, I recommend Site Build It. This is a internet based, easy web site builder and you'll pay an annual fee of $295 (or $29.95 monthly) that is all-inclusive. The package includes your domain name (you choose), your hosting, the complete website building software package, and loads of built in tools to help you identify marketable keywords, find ways to monetize your website, and evaluate your site's performance. You won't have to find and use a boatload of tools and resources outside of Site Build It which keeps it all very convenient and well organized in an easy step-by-step manner.

This solution is especially valuable if you are thinking of putting up a website with the purpose of making money from the site itself. This package will help you research topics that are marketable and potentially profitable. It will also teach you what to do and when you need to do each step. It takes the guesswork out of the process.

I used the Site Build It package as my tutorial when I assumed responsibility of a corporate website in a former position I held at a large company. I needed to come up to speed on the ins and outs of building an effective website and get there fast. While we did not use SBI to build our corporate site, I did use it to develop my own website and that experience was almost entirely responsible for my initial website building education. The information is solid, the package is very complete, and the training is comprehensive and easy to follow.

If there is any downside it is that you need to re-subscribe to the package each year (or month if you're doing the month to month subscription option) to keep your site live. In the long run, this can be more expensive than going another route. However, the completeness of the system is worth it for site building newbies or for those who like all their tools inter-connected for simplicity and ease of organization. If you plan to build multiple sites over time, or if you already have a good understanding of what goes into developing a successful website, you may wish to consider the other easy website building software I recommend below.

XSitePro* - Recommended for those with a little experience. (Or beginners who purchase the training below.)

The training program that is discussed below is available separately. Beginners will do great with this program if they also purchase training program. (Intermediate and advanced site builders will also likely learn a ton from this training program as there are so many excellent features and capabilities within XSitePro 2.)

I currently use and highly recommend XsitePro. XsitePro is desktop based site building software that creates sites easily and inexpensively. You pay for the software just once for an upfront fee of $197 (an ongoing sale price) and you can use it to create an unlimited number of web sites. Your only other costs will be for your domain name and website hosting.

XsitePro is very intuitive, but it also comes with a excellent user manual that you download and print out (or simply view on your screen). There is also a Quick Start Guide to get you up and running quickly. They also recently launched a comprehensive self-paced XsitePro video training package that has received exceptional reviews.

I have used XsitePro (version 1 or 2) to build numerous websites. XsitePro 2 now has a vast array of outstanding features added to make it extremely robust and very user friendly.

If you utilize the internal SEO tools built into the software, you will be building a site that is automatically search engine friendly. These built-in SEO tools help you identify what needs to be done to be spidered effectively by the major search engines and get you found online. Using these tools will help your site obtain better organic listings on the search engines.

This package does not bundle the domain name, hosting, keyword research, and monetization exploration tools as Site Build It does. However, it is an excellent, easy web site builder that includes lots of bells and whistles like form builders, point and click tools to add audio and video to your site very easily, automatically built Google site maps, and much, much more. It is extremely robust for the price and you can use it over and over again to build as many sites as you wish to in the future.

XSitePro 2 Training Package*

The XsitePro training package is exceptional. I declined to purchase it for quite some time because I was already using XSitePro so successfully. Little did I know that there was such a tremendous wealth of information available to ramp up XSitePro to an entirely new level. Even some "advanced" website builders have raved about what they have learned and implemented as the result of using this training program.

The training is laid out very logically and you can sequence yourself through the training modules based on your skill level, interests, and knowledge gaps. Highly recommended if you own or are thinking about buying XSitePro.
